Thinkers.inq Preschool
Remember when the inquisitive nature of your child became a pressing need for them to try and understand everything, right away? Here at Thinkers.inq Preschool we don’t ever want that curiosity to disappear. Everything we do is driven by our vision – educére (the latin term for education); to draw out and lead forth.

We believe in fostering curiosity to not only encourage inquirers, but to develop thinkers. We are all about creating a community of thinkers that supports the natural inclination of young, curious minds to inquire about the world around them.

Together, it’s possible. Join us.

Our Preschool program runs Monday to Friday, 6:45am to 6:30pm, 50 weeks of the year.

Alpha Kids Academy Brookvale would like to advise that we have now officially opened our doors and will be operating Monday – Friday 7am-6pm.

From the day they are born to the day they start school, children grow at a very rapid and remarkable rate. Choosing the right early learning and care environment for your child is one of the most important decisions a parent/carer has to make. It is vital that young children have a happy and healthy start in the early years of their development as this will shape their future. Children should be encouraged to actively explore their environment, make new friends, and experience new opportunities to open their inquisitive minds to the amazing world at their feet!

Alpha Kids Academy provides an environment that is nurturing, adaptable and safe that your child can be encouraged and supported in their growth and development. We understand that your child is your most precious asset!

Gumnut Kindergarten  We are delighted to announce we are finalizes in the Australian Childcare Alliance NSW Early Childhood Education Week Awards and were nominated as finalists for 8 of them.

We recently attended the event and won 2 awards out of all of NSW
1. Best play and transition to school program
2. Best promotional program

Contact us to organise a tour for 2019 and beyond.

Peek-a-boo Cottage provides a stimulating environment, which is conducive to learning. We pride ourselves on being a home away from home with an environment that is focused on the child to engage in play-based learning, where children feel free to play, explore, investigate, create, learn, make friends, and most importantly feel safe and secure.

We value child-centred play to foster meaningful experiences that promote a desire for learning and spark curiosity. We believe that play-based learning allows children to gain confidence and self-esteem through a range of experiences and opportunities that build upon their understandings and skill development. We are committed to open and constructive communication with families to support them in their parenting role.

PARENT INFORMATION

Sun Safety

1. Slip on sun protective clothing

Choose clothing that:

  • covers as much skin as possible eg. shirts with long sleeves and high necks/collars
  • is made from close weave materials such as cotton, polyester/cotton and linen
  • if used for swimming, is made from materials such as lycra, which stays sun protective when wet

2. Slop on SPF 30+ sunscreen

Make sure your sunscreen is broad spectrum and water-resistant. Don’t use sunscreen to increase the amount of time you spend in the sun and always use with other forms of protection too. Apply sunscreen liberally to clean, dry skin at least 20 minutes before you go outside and reapply every two hours.

3. Slap on a hat

A broad-brimmed, legionnaire or bucket style hat provides good protection for the face, nose, neck and ears, which are common sites for skin cancers. Caps and visors do not provide enough protection. Choose a hat made with closely woven fabric – if you can see through it, UV radiation will get through. Hats may not protect you from reflected UV radiation, so also wear sunglasses and sunscreen.

4. Seek shade

Staying in the shade is an effective way to reduce sun exposure. Use trees or built shade structures, or bring your own! Whatever you use for shade, make sure it casts a dark shadow and use other protection (such as clothing, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen) to avoid reflected UV radiation from nearby surfaces.

5. Slide on some sunglasses

Sunglasses and a broad-brimmed hat worn together can reduce UV radiation exposure to the eyes by up to 98 per cent. Sunglasses should be worn outside during daylight hours. Choose close-fitting wrap-around sunglasses that meet the Australian Standard AS 1067. Sunglasses are as important for children as they are for adults.

Be UV aware
Be extra cautious in the middle of the day when UV levels are most intense.

The UV Index tells you the time period in which you need to be SunSmart. It is on the weather page of most daily newspapers and on the Bureau of Meteorology website: www.bom.gov.au/weather/uv

Check skin regularly and see a doctor if you notice any unusual skin changes. If you have a lesion that doesn’t heal, or a mole that has suddenly appeared, changed in size, thickness, shape, colour or has started to bleed, see your doctor immediately. Treatment is more likely to be successful if skin cancer is discovered early.
