Pine Street Kindergarten, we are a privately owned, accredited, long day care centre licensed by The Department of Community Services to provide care for 24 children, 3-6 years.
Our centre is open Monday – Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. We close public holidays and 2 -3 weeks over Christmas.
At times of play activities, the children are free to choose areas of interest in which they will participate throughout the day, both as individuals and as part of a group. We believe children learn self discipline by being able to choose their own play activities. Sharing and co-operating with others is encouraged by staff.
By observing and documenting the development of each child, staff carefully plan a program. This allows staff to concentrate on areas of difficulty as well as areas your child enjoys or excels at.
Play activities each day will generally include painting, play dough, puzzles, construction, music, storytelling, sand and water play.
Other than group time, all the children play and eat together. We divide the children into two smaller groups for group time, usually 3 to 4 year olds and 4 to 5 year olds. This enables staff to concentrate on levels of development and school readiness.
Our centre is staffed by a professional team of both formally trained and centre trained people, who have been chosen because of their educational qualifications, experience, enthusiasm, confidence and above all, their caring nature. Our staff includes owner/manager, director and six educators, with a minimum of 4 staff per day. Relief staff are used when permanent staff are absent. We open our centre to high school students for work experience throughout the year and also students from teachers and child care colleges. Contact us for more information.
Punchinello Kindergarten is a small family owned childcare centre committed to offering high quality childcare, since 1980. We care for children aged 2-6 years from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday – 50 weeks per year.
We are a bright and friendly centre with a great team of highly qualified, experienced educators. Half our educators have been with us for more than ten years, because we know that committed happy educators offer the best possible opportunities for our children. Our mission is to develop and extend each child’s skills, knowledge and interests, through a successful early childhood experience.
We offer a daily program that considers the needs and best interests of each child, plus:

We feel privileged that children are entrusted to our preschool care and are deeply committed to providing the highest level of day care education in a fun filled and healthy, nurturing environment.
Play is now well recognised for its potential power and influence on a child’s development. Through careful observation, program design and implementation, our preschool / child care teachers identify children’s interests and use this as a basis in providing meaningful learning experiences throughout their child care education, both in a group and on an individual level.
Children learn best when they actively participate in a number of varied, challenging and interesting learning experiences. They learn to communicate, investigate and express themselves through these learning experiences in a friendly, supportive and fail free environment, where independence and co-operation is encouraged and appropriate behavior is reinforced throughout their daily child care experiences.
We provide long day care in a home like environment yet have every possible learning aid a child could wish for, from soft cuddly toys to state of the art computers. Contact us for more information.
