We are seeking a trainee interested in working in the Early Childhood profession. Are you 18 or older? Do you want to earn while you study? Have all Certificate 3 costs fully covered? Then apply to become a part of our passionate, supportive team of Educators at Peek-A-boo Cottage, who will support you as you learn on the job while studying for your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Position: Full-time, 38 hours - 4 days per week

Peek-A-Boo Cottage is a small family-owned and operated long day care service catering to children aged birth to 3 years. We are located in a convenient leafy seaside suburb of Seaforth, close to public transport and ample off-street parking.

Our service is open 8 am - 6.00 pm Monday - Friday. Closed on public holidays & closed over Christmas & New Year's Eve.

You will work with a team of dedicated educators to create a stimulating, positive and inclusive environment that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) whilst maintaining the elements of the National Quality Standards (NQS).

Requirements for the role;

  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and fellow educators
  • Be an advocate for play-based learning and support sustainable practices
  • Have the ability to foster children's imagination, curiosity and creativity
  • Positive, friendly and enthusiastic

Golden Seeds desired criteria:
For ECT position

  1. Early Childhood Teacher or ACECQA recognized qualification as ECT.
  2. Be responsible for management of the day-to-day operation of the assigned room, including providing leadership and support to educators and staff within your team in line with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
  3. In collaboration with the Educational Leader assist with the development, implementation, and reflection of the educational program to provide a high-quality program for all children and families
  4. Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff, and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children
  5. Strong knowledge of the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework
  6. Demonstrated experience in building relationships with families
  7. Able to actively contribute to the education program in the room and the centre team

For Diploma and Cert 3 educators 

  1. Diploma, Working towards Diploma, Cert 3 and working toward cert 3 in Early Childhood Education or ACECQA recognized qualification
  2. Strong knowledge of the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework
  3. Contribute to the educational program under the direction of the Lead Educator to provide a high-quality program for all children
  4. Assist with the smooth running of the room in line with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures under the direction of the Lead Educator
  5. Complete enrolled study components within a timely manner and/or specified time stipulated by training organisation. 
  6. Well-developed written and oral communication skills

All candidates will be required to provide
Current Working with Children Checks
Current First Aid certificate.
Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates Desirable
Current National Police Checks
